Sharing what I know and feel with you.

About Me

I am a broadcast journalism student at Columbia College Chicago. My work has appeared in the North Lawndale Community News, Community Media Workshop, the Chicago Crusader, the Columbia Chronicle and ChicagoTalks. I specialize in community-based stories, like youth jobs, neighborhood recovery and economic development.

I’ve had an interest in writing and being in front of an audience since I was six-years-old. I remember making my entire bedroom into a television studio and using my cousins and stuffed animals as guests and audience members for my talk show. I wrote stories on my neighborhood and my family and even wrote a 10 page book. I knew from that point forward, I wanted to write and to be in front of a camera.

I’ve hosted many community events, such as Evanston Township High School’s E-Town Idol for 3 years in a row, Evanston’s Youth-Led Mayoral Candidates Forum, Youth Organizations Umbrella’s (Y.O.U.) Diverse Evanston Walks United MLK Event, among others.

I’m also the co-chair of the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority’s (IVPA) Youth Advisory Board. In that position, I’ve been able to be a keynote speaker at many different events including, our first Youth Summit, held in Joliet, IL in 2010, Strengthening Chicago’s Youth (SCY) Kick-off meeting in February 2012, STRYVE’s annual Community Meeting/Collaboration in Washington D.C. in March 2011, as well as the Lights On After School Initiative.

I’m very excited to share my work with the world and give folks a different view on the issues of the day. Please, do not hesitate to contact me or leave a comment with questions, concerns, complaints and constructive criticism.
